Joint venture between Marcegaglia Steel and Manni Group

The new company will become the second-largest producer of panels in Europe.
Marcegaglia Steel and Manni Group have signed an agreement for a joint venture in the field of insulated panels and sectional door panels. This collaboration between two internationally renowned groups with a long tradition in steel processing gives rise to an industrial entity that will be a key player in the Italian market and the second-largest producer of panels in Europe. Their extensive customer portfolio spans over 70 countries worldwide. The production sites involved in this operation are located in Italy, specifically in Piedmont (Pozzolo Formigaro, AL), Veneto (Trevenzuolo, VR), and Lazio (Patrica, FR).
The operation, subject to the usual suspensive conditions and Antitrust authorizations, involves, on one hand, the transfer by Marcegaglia Steel of Italian production activities controlled by Marcegaglia Buildtech and Polish production activities controlled by Marcegaglia Poland to Isopan Spa; on the other hand, Marcegaglia Steel will acquire a number of shares sufficient to reach 50% ownership of Isopan Spa, with a similar 50% stake held by Manni Group. The joint venture will have an aggregated turnover of approximately 500 million euros and will employ nearly 700 people1.
The goal of the joint venture is to pool expertise, industrial platforms, and networks to promote the development of off-site construction, where components are designed and built in factories and then transported to construction sites for final assembly. This approach improves efficiency, construction quality, safety, and environmental protection. Through increased investments in research and development, Marcegaglia Steel and Manni Group aim to make a tangible impact, particularly in terms of innovation and sustainability, by offering highly technological construction systems that ensure cost certainty and minimize waste, thus meeting and exceeding the requirements of the European Green Deal.

Drini Bridge: A bridge to the future with Marcegaglia safety barriers

The Drini Bridge, one of the largest arches in Europe, has been successfully completed by our partner Salillari Sh.p.k. This bridge, located in Kukës between the Black Drin River and the artificial lake of Fierza, connects Albania to Kosovo and Eastern Europe.
Project Details:
• Size: the bridge consists of three spans, with the central one measuring 270 meters, making it one of the largest arches in Europe.
• Arch height: 55 meters from road level.
• Road barriers features: H4W3 and H4W4 Bridge Parapets by Marcegaglia Buildtech.
What truly makes the Drini Bridge remarkable is not just its size, but also its construction and launching method. The structure was built on dry land and then slowly slid across to the opposite bank using two floating concrete platforms measuring 30×30 meters each.

Our SM8 for the restoration of St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City

On the occasion of the 2025 Jubilee, restoration work has commenced at St. Peter’s Basilica (Vatican City) to restore Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s Baldacchino.
Collaborating with the technical office of the Fabbrica di San Pietro, we have constructed a self-supporting structure using our multidirectional SM8 system. This structure stands 30 meters high and faithfully recreates a Baldacchino similar to Bernini’s original design. It allows access to every component requiring restoration. Remarkably, the entire structure is supported by four columns at its corners, resting on wooden boards to protect the floor from the stresses of the restoration work.
Our solution ensures that the usability and visibility of the altar are nearly unchanged during liturgical functions throughout the entire restoration process.
Rail-Baltica project

We are proud to have taken the first step in the Rail-Baltic, the largest Baltic-region infrastructure project in the last 100 years.
It represents a symbolic return of the Baltic States to Europe and will include five European Union countries – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and indirectly also Finland (870 km).
Thanks to the cooperation with TREV2, we have developed a solution of road safety barrier H4W3 for bridges coupled with snow fence.

Marcegaglia Buildtech’s experience has led to the creation of a range of insulated panels for the building industry, divided into three types of use: for roofs, for walls and single-sheet.

MARCEGAGLIA LED THE BUDMA EXHIBITION IN POZNAŃ

From 30 January to 2 February Marcegaglia Buildtech products led the Budma exhibition in Poznań (Poland), the largest event in Eastern Europe for designers, architects and construction engineers.
Marcegaglia Buildtech attended the fair with an exhibition space located in hall A6 stand 41 showing its range of steels, carbon flat products, structural tubes, pre-painted steels for applications in the building industry with insulated panels for roofs and walls and for sectional doors and heavy quarto plates.
In the 2018 edition, Marcegaglia Buildtech also presented its range of building structures with a dedicated outdoor facility in hall 10 booth 6.
